What documents should I include?

That depends on the vacancy in question. You can find more information in our application tips for the relevant area of work. You should always include a letter of motivation, your CV and any school or work references.

How do I upload missing documents that have been requested?

Simply reply to our email requesting them and attach the missing files in PDF format.

I am interested in a position that is no longer online. Can I apply anyway?

We remove positions that have already been filled from our vacancy database. You can therefore unfortunately no longer apply for those vacancies. However, we are always advertising new positions – so feel free to check regularly. Of course, it is also possible to send a speculative application.

To the speculative application

I applied some time ago but have not yet received an answer. Where can I enquire about the status of my application?

The town of Neuenstein, where our head office is located, is in East Hesse – between Fulda and Kassel.

I work for a temping agency or a human resources consultancy. How can I present applicants to you?

Please note that we receive a lot of applications. We would therefore ask you not to present applicants to us. We will get in touch if we require your services.

How can I apply to be a delivery driver?

GLS does not employ drivers. For deliveries, we exclusively work with independent transport companies. At gls-transportpartner.de you can send us your contact details and we will forward them to the responsible transport company.

Questions on apprenticeships, internships and dual studies

How can I apply?

Applications for apprenticeships, dual studies courses and internships can be made via the vacancies in our careers portal. Therefore, please simply send us your application via our careers portal.

A special feature for apprenticeships and internships: please remember to select your preferred GLS location in your application. Otherwise, your application can unfortunately not be allocated.

Until when can I apply?

There is no official deadline for applications. However, those who apply as soon as the vacancy is posted have better chances of being considered.

What documents should I include with the application?

To allow us to make a first impression of you, please send us your letter of motivation, CV and your last two school reports or your school-leaver’s certificate. Feel free to also send any other references and supporting documents.

How long will it take before I receive news?

You will receive an automated confirmation of receipt as soon as your application reaches us. We then pass on your application to the relevant contact partner. Checking the application can take some time (approx. 6–8 weeks). We will get in touch with you as soon as possible and inform you about the next steps.

What is the usual selection process?

Apprenticeship: If you are suitable, we will invite you for an interview to get a clearer picture of you and clear up any doubts. The interview is designed to be a mutual familiarisation exercise, so you can also ask questions. Depending on the location, we may carry out an aptitude test beforehand.

Dual studies:
If you are suitable, we will invite you to an assessment centre to get a clearer picture of you. Any doubts can be cleared up in the subsequent interview. If you impress us at the assessment centre, we will recommend you to our contact partner in the relevant GLS region. The interview is designed to be a mutual familiarisation exercise.

Who can give me further information?

We have different contact partners for the apprenticeship locations and the dual studies. You can find the appropriate contact either in the corresponding vacancy or simply by looking here.
